The Devious Theatre Company (through which there is a KilkennyMusic.com connection with myself and Ross part of the show) opens tonight in Cleere’s Theatre and runs 8pm nightly up to an including this Saturday night.
Dubbed a ‘theatrical mix tape’, the show looks at changing relationships (and not so changing music) through each of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and present day in Ireland. Covering the showband era, the punk scene, blind dates, riverside drinking, makeups, breakups, patchups, the show is peppered with quality musical references that you’ll be able to connect with whatever your ages. Add a slice of romance, a splash of comedy and an experienced cast the show is sure to delight audiences this week.
For full details, check out the group’s website at DeviousTheatre.com or drop to the Devious Theatre MySpace. By all accounts, ticket sales are busy with some still available for Friday night and Saturday night. Tickets can be reserved by calling to Cleere’s Theatre directly (on Parliament Street in Kilkenny, directly opposite the Watergate Theatre) or by phoning +353 56 77 62573.
