Wouldn’t you know it, the Klaxons have scooped this years Mercury prize thus taking with them about STG£20,000 earlier tonight. Irish hopeful Fionn Regan had been listed in the bookies this afternoon around the 12/1 mark but didn’t get a look in in the end. Surprise of the night though, nominee Amy Winehouse actually turned up! God knows what she would have done with the 20 grand but she’d been nominated for her album ‘Back to Black’ albeit unsuccessful.
