Fergal Barry RIP
Fergal ‘Goggy’ Barry, guitarist with Carlow band the Le-Mons and part time 79Cortinaz guitarist (check out the end of Feather Eggshells) sadly passed away yesterday morning at around 5 am.
The news reports of an ‘unknown’ Irish tourist who died of head injuries in Prague. That was Goggy. This is a great loss to his family and all who knew Fergal and in a more general sphere, music in the Carlow/Kilkenny area - he played manys a gig in Kilkenny, the last the other week.
i played in the lemons with ferg and considered him my best friend,we still miss him unbelievably both myself and mac, on monday the 24th of march we are having our annual fergal barry memorial/tribute gig to him from 6 to 9 in scraggs alley with numerous bands from carlow, fergs family will be present, so if you can please come or if you cant publicise it or report on it
