This Friday marks the third monthly Reggae night in The Zoo on Parliament Street. Aided by the boys from Ghost Town, the night is becoming extremely popular in Kilkenny, bringing reggae bands and dub DJs together for a great night of music.
Unite Tribe are a seven piece band from North Co. Dublin and made up of Brian Kelly, Glenn Keelan ,Ciara Bradshaw, Barthez, ,Giotto the Genius, Sean De Burca & Piero. Formally known as the “Rastafenians” they have been together since September 2004.
The bands influences range from pink floyd to dj shadow but “the tribe” classify themselves as “new wave reggae”. Their unique sound and has caught the ear of music lovers and their live performances have impressed audiences all over Ireland. They have just finished recording their debut album “enlokari” which is due for release Feb ‘07. The album has 11 tracks, and was recorded in Rush, Co.Dublin. It was produced by Wayne Sheehy and engineered by Andy Knightly.
Support on the night comes from local reggae all-stars Ghost Town with new man Stefano on the mic, while DJ Grizzly will be firing out the tunes afterwards until 2am. Doors are (we think) 10pm and there’s an 8 Euro cover charge.
