Old school metal straight out of Cork rolls into Kilkenny on Saturday week, March 31st as Defect hit the Zoo club to promote the launch of their current EP ‘Into The Void’
The band were voted A Band Apart 2005 by Red FM listeners and Evening Echo readers, were the only metal band to play at the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival and they were the 7th most downloaded band on the festival website out of 100 bands. They have recently represented Ireland in the online Heavy Metal Eurovision.
Defect are influenced by Old School metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Early Metallica, Slayer etc. and are known to pay homage to their idols with a few covers interspersed with their own material.
Support on the night comes from Black Metal merchants Ex-Inferus, metal DJ follows afterwards into the wee hours of the morning. Before heading to see the lads in action, take a listen to the track below, you’ll get ‘Dead Silence’ from their previous EP, also titled ‘Dead Silence’
