New Young Pony Club Tonight

The Heineken bus pulls into town tonight, stopping at Langtons for New Young Pony Club (MySpace) for the Heineken Green Spheres session.
I’ve yet to go to a Green Spheres night myself but I did catch the last Heineken trip to Kilkenny with the Super Furry Animals in Langtons which was nothing short of fantastic on the night (it also included a random encounter with Paddy Casey and Tom Dunne’s jacket) along with massive amounts of Heineken and half a snack box from the Roma next door. But thats waaaay besides the point.
If you’re not getting to see the NYPC tonight you do have the chance to catch them at Oxegen this summer but if you’re one of the lucky ones who bagged a free ticket then you’ll be in for a treat. The band (Tahita Bulmer, Andy Spence, Lou Hayter, Igor Volk & Sarah Jones) are doing a massive amount of touring through May and well into the summer. On the go three years, they’ve been doing the rounds of late with Lily Allen, The Klaxons and CSS (who strutted their funky stuff in Carlow last week), their current single - The Bomb - is pretty good going and their new album is on the way in time for the June Bank Holiday weekend.
There’s bound to be a load of hype about them over the summer once the festivals kick in and the new album hits the shelves so I reckon, catch them while you can and if you’re going tonight report back here and let us know how it went for you!
