The backroom in Ryan’s tonight boasts a collection of local talent from the singer-songwriter end of town. There’s three acts on the night, kicking off around 9 or half past with Ken O’Dwyer before one of KKM’s own, Mickey Boo, takes to the stage with a setlist of original material and one or two covers. Topping the bill on the night is no stranger to the acoustic scene, Kieran Byrne, who kicks off his world tour tonight in Ryans.
Maybe not so much of a “world” tour, but if you’ve been keeping an eye on the forums at all you’ll see that Kieran has about a dozen gig dates penned around the South East over the next two months or so.
There’s a cover charge of four buckaroos on the door but if you’re looking for music on this wet Friday night in Kilkenny, you can’t go wrong by stopping into Ryans (Friary Street).
