House Parade

One of Ireland’s leading female DJ’s is set to hit Kilkenny’s Zoo Club on Saturday May 3 for one night of thumping House, Techno and Electro. Fresh from a hugely successful world tour, DJ Miss Motif is set to shake the foundations of the Zoo Club with a no holds barred set.

As part of a new regular DJ event titled House Parade, DJ Miss Motif will be joined by local favourites DJ’s Neillers (Bodyshake) and Chris Ward (Climax). The night will also feature a state of the art lazer light show and professional podium dancers.

This leading international DJ commands the decks with her captivating stage presence and energetic performances. Miss Motif started DJing 10 years ago out of a pure love for music that she had from an early age.

She grew up in a house where music was very much appreciated by her family. Her father being a drummer in a band gave her a great sense of rhythm and beats.

Miss Motif’s involvement with the Heineken Thirst dance event saw her reach the final in the DJing contest, beating hundreds of entrants to second place. Her style is so versatile that she can adapt and change from house and electro to techno in any set. She has one common factor throughout the set – big bass lines that rock every venue!

Her first recorded track was with a group of Italian producers called Vespa Bros. Their track ‘Freedom’ reached number 7 in the Italian Dance charts. She recorded vocals for her second track ‘Up and Down’ with the same collaborators but under the new name of ‘Scent’.

Miss Motif is now finished her first album with Scent. Their track ‘Up and Down’ has been signed to EMI’s Positiva record label. It reached a Top 20 position in the UK charts aswell as reaching Number 1 in both the Buzz chart and the Cool Cut chart.

She was invited to sing live on Pete Tongs essential selection show on Radio 1 in Ibiza in front of thousands of people at Café Mambo. It features on the soundtrack to the movie ‘Its all gone Pete Tong.’ The video was shot in London and shown on MTV.

Miss Motif was recently invited to be a resident DJ on the entire Heineken Music World Tour as both a DJ and a vocalist. She performed in Asia, North and South America, Africa, Australia and all over Europe. The tour was headlined by DJ Tiesto, Oakie and Radio 1’s Pete Tong. It kicked off on her home turf – Cork.

The tour saw her performing in all the major clubs around the world including Zouk in Singapore and Malaysia, Ministry of Sound in Taiwan, Home and Family in Australia, Mint in Argentina, Heaven, Cargo and 10 Rooms in London, The Peppermint Club in Dubai, Loungefly in India, Crystal in Lebannon and many more. She has gained admiration for her energetic and amazing stage performances.

See what all the fuss is about when she hits The Zoo Club on Saturday May 3. Local DJ ‘Neillers’ from the Bodyshake crew will play support. Doors open at 9pm, entry is €10 and organisers are advising fans to arrive early to secure a place.
