Majella Murphy To Play Kilkenny

Meteor music award nominee Majella Murphy (also playing at the Meteors) announced earlier in the week that she’s to perform in Kilkenny, Spring Hill Hotel to be exact on Sunday February 23rd.

As far as we can think it’s been over a year since Majella played Kilkenny, last appearing upstairs in ‘The Loft’ over the old Widows with Dave Thompson in support (February 3rd last year for you date-lovers).

While certain categories are open to public vote (Best DJ, Best Irish Band etc.), Majella falls into one of the non-voting categories - ‘Best Irish Folk Traditional’. She’s in the running for the gong alongside Tommy Flemming, Sharon Shannon, Kila (also up for Choice Music award), Damien Dempsey and Moving Hearts.

Tickets are available from Spring Hill or Rollercoaster here in Kilkenny, priced 15 euro.
