The fourth (it is fourth, isn’t it?) annual Lord Of The Drums gets underway today at 2pm in Kilkenny (usual Parliament Street venue) where you’ll find “an incredible exhibition of drummers and percussionists from around Ireland” hiding out and showing off their wares and talents.

The lineup to this years expo is quite similar to last year - KilkennyMusic.com’s own Alan Dawson will be there showing off his new Sonar set up (Itchy Trigger Finger), Ned Long, Bob Ryan (Slave Zero), Barry English (I’ll Eat Your Face, Cork), Mike Hayden (79Cortinaz, Carlow), Jammy Walsh (KK District Pipe Band, ex Maula), the Kilkenny Samba Band and more.

Weather not looking too bad for an indoor event, if you’re heading along, keep in mind that last year was an absolute scorcher so heavy jumpers might not exactly be fitting of the event. It is sponsored, as always, by Essaness who have been most kind to KKM all along our road and comes in association with Yamaha and Zildjian. Frank will be taking deposits on the day for kits and equipment you see on offer while you’ll also be able to pick up discounts on cymbals, kits both new and old and other drum paraphernalia.

All starts off at 2pm, six bucks gets you in the door - we’ll all be there, hope to see you around!
