Word reaches us here at KilkennyMusic.com that MICHÉAL Ó SÚILLEABHÁIN has been confirmed for the Kilkenny Celtic Festival being held here in kilkenny from September 28th to October 7th inclusive.
Entertainment takes the form of lectures, lunchtime and evening concerts, workshops of dance / music / song, sporting events, currach racing, steet entertainment, children’s storytelling and a lot more besides.
Some of the highlights of this year’s festival include
- 5th, 6th October - James Flack retrospective
- 5th October - Concert of Celtic Nations including Micheal O Suilleabhain, Beoga, Irish World Academy of Music & Dance (University of Limerick), Scotter, Welsh, national and local groups.
The latter is a ticketed event being held in the Watergate Theatre with tickets now booking on 056 7761674.
On Saturday October 6th you can also find the Celtic Feast - a Scottish banquet with celebrity chef Eamonn O Cathain with some delightful harp melodies accompanying the meal. This is also a ticket based event with details available on 056 7721483.
