Myself and Ross have broken the 100 post mark on our staff blogs, which isn’t bad considering mine rarely sees action from one end of the month to the other. Though, January brought around a resolution to give it a bit more thought overall and make it a little more active.

If anyone has an answer to where all the apple jacks are hiding out, you can see my current post here. Maybe one day Mickey and Daw will return to the world of blogging. Meanwhile, we’ll keep the home fires well and truly stoked.

Kilkenny’s newest film-making collective, Microfilms, air their first production online today. Vultures Episode 1: The Kris Kringle Konundrum is now available to watch for free on www.vulturespi.com.

The 43-minute pilot episode and Christmas Special was filmed in Kilkenny over the last two weeks and features performances from KKM Forum regulars as well as myself, Daw and Ken.

As KKM gets a boost to the homepage (and yes, Ray, the radio is on the way don’t you worry!) we shed some light on what the staff are saying on the KilkennyMusic.com staff blogs. If you don’t know already, each of us maintain our own blogs of random goings-on, gig afterthoughts and developments around KilkennyMusic.com.

I’ve been waffling this morning about the fresh look for KilkennyMusic.com, Daw recaps (yesterday) the latest Itchy Trigger Finger gig in Clonmel while Ross talks it up about the One Take Sessions from last Thursday along with the fact that there are severed limbs all over his kitchen.

As for Boo?

I reckon we’re returning to some sense of normality. All the KKM crew have been away the past week working with The Devious Theatre Company’s production of Heart Shaped Vinyl which closed on Saturday. Needless to say, the party continued through to Sunday night and we were gone to tidy up on Monday. A little sleep on Tuesday means Wednesday can see us returning to normal!

There’s no KKM gig this weekend either with Myp Et Jeep and Cry Yuma both out of action so the next night up is the One Take Sessions in Cleere’s Theatre on Thursday week.

Ah normality…

Time to wish KKM’s resident photographer a very happy birthday! Ross hits the big 26 today, everyone was out celebrating in fine form on Saturday night so if you see him in town, college, online don’t forget to wish him happy birthday! Hell, we might even sing happy birthday to him on the Sound System podcast tonight…. you never know!

Hasn’t taken long for the staff blogs to get underway and Ross has commenced his proceedings by starting off the Oss237 Recommends column. This regular feature (I’m guessing it will be regular) looks at Ross’ own recommendations for bands doing the rounds on the Kilkenny music scene and further afield.

Having had first hand experience with the first three bands, Ross introduces 20 Bulls Each, Innate and Itchy Trigger Finger to those eager to find new music.
