PJ Gallagher returns to the Cat Laughs comedy festival in Kilkenny this May bank holiday weekend.

Myself, a certain forum member, and a certain reliable secret source were at the launch of the Cat Laughs comedy festival last night and in case you haven’t heard, the box office opens this morning. I’ve already sussed what I’m going to try get tickets to, having spent the bones of an hour pouring over the guide for this year and making a plan of attack for the long weekend.

Familiar faces to this year’s festival include Tommy Tiernan, Des Bishop, Neil Delamare, Jason Byrne, PJ Gallagher, Dom Irrera, Andrew Maxwell and a host of other fine comedians from across the globe. Festival debuts have been handed to Carl Barron (Aus), Mike Birbiglia (US), Jeff Caldwell (US), Frankie Boyle (Sco), Nick Griffin (US), Sarah Kendall (Aus), Dave Johns (UK) to name but a few.

Check out SmithwicksCatLaughs.com, or give the booking office a buzz on +353 56 77 63837 from 11am onwards today. If you’re booking by credit card over the phone or online note that there is a €1.50 booking fee per ticket.

It all goes down on the June bank holiday weekend (just over a month from now) and you can get your comedy weekend started with some fantastic original music at the One Take Sessions which is running the Thursday of the bank holiday weekend, May 31st.
