Calling young bands! And by young I mean if you’re 15 and under come the midterm break this year! RTE are launching a new TV show called ‘Jam’ which is looking for new bands, and over the week (the midterm break at the end of October) three groups will be selected for tuition from some of Ireland’s industry heads culminating in a live Battle Of The Bands on RTE. They’re not really looking for a record deal or fame, but the ability to hone your skills and put you in the right direction (I suppose you’ll get some recognition!)

What you’ve got to do is get yourself to the Jam Website, and download an application form. Send off a demo CD/Tape etc. of yourselves playing (whether you’ve had something done professionally or not).
Liam McCormack who is behind Jam was on Beat FM yesterday quoted as saying they are ‘taking lads who have the potential… who can go far’ and that the show is ‘nothing like Rock Idol’.
Closing date is October 7th so get yourselves there now if you’re interested!
