Biography

Atrax Mantis formed as a four piece, in the summer of 2004, in Kilkenny City. In 2005 the band recruited a 2nd guitarist, Eoin Brett. During that summer Atrax played numerous gigs that included the Carlow and the Kilkenny battle of the bands. Atrax walked out in 2nd place.

Soon after James Meany left the band and Atrax recruited new singer T .

Future plans are to record an EP and the are many gigs in the pipeline. “We hope you enjoy our crushing Death Metal.”

We reckon the lads are great, a powerhouse live and given more time with their new direction (with T at the forefront) the band have a good chance at making a mark on the Irish metal scene. We caught them with Slave Zero in Waterford in January 2007 and everyone rocked their heads off. Keep an eye out for them during the year - they’re loud, and they’ll let you know it too!
