From September 14th to October 9th we’re fund raising online with the hope of raising €1,000 (or US$1,500). We would like YOU to help this cause.
We’re fund raising for video camera equipment to enable us to do several things
- Start broadcasting our gigs online, weekend gigs and the One Take Sessions held every third Thursday.
- Archiving high quality digital footage of our gigs and special performances to showcase on Kilkenny Music TV. Footage would also be used in preparation for DVD releases of gig highlights in Kilkenny on an annual basis
- KilkennyMusic.com will begin to podcast video interviews with bands both local and national in an attempt to a) boost the profile of the bands in question and b) boost the profile of Kilkenny as a “go-to” music destination in Ireland.
- Overall offer a higher quality of service across a broader media spectrum
What can you do
We’ve never embarked on a fundraising drive before so we’re asking you to spread the word! We need your assistance to help get it off the ground. If you’re willing to make a donation, we’ve got a donations area organised with Fundable.org who will take donations of a minimum US$10. This is a pledge-driven system, if we don’t make our goal then you don’t pay, simple as that.
We would however hope to make the goal and would like you to make it possible! If you have a paypal account or access to a credit card and would like to pledge US$10 (thats just over €7 - you can’t get to the cinema for that kind of money, but you’ll be getting free videos from here on in!) then please click here. You can of course make and we would accept higher donations.
Sponsor donations
Sponsored donations are welcome. In this case, donations to the value of €250 (US$350) or greater we will carry a sponsors logo at the end of our video podcasts (online release).
Going beyond the pledge
Should we raise more than the €1,000 needed to make this purchase we will be donating any remaining funds to an Irish charity nominated by the members of KilkennyMusic.com.
Deadline
From September 14th we’ve got 25 days to get our pledge raised - please, please, please spread the word. Email your friends, send out MySpace bulletins, talk it up on Bebo, email your families, tell everyone about the great work thats happening at KilkennyMusic.com and help us to continue to create new opportunities for bands and musicians locally (and throughout Ireland!)
