A Reminder About Tonight
Just a quick reminder about tonight - the Vesta Varro / Frantic State gig won’t be taking place in Cleere’s in case you were looking to go along. See the news from last night and in the forum (and notices about the town).
You can, however, check out Tarrintino and Blue Meryl in The Pumphouse (Parliament Street), Numbers and RSAG in Eddie Murphy’s (Thomastown) or Bodyshake in The Zoo (Parliament Street).

Postponement Of Vesta Varro / Frantic State
The first casualty of the week was the ArtLinks course due tomorrow (Saturday), then late last night Frantic State announced they wouldn’t be able to appear this Saturday. With options limited and other circumstances beyond our control, we’ve taken the decisions to reschedule this gig until February 2008. We’ve spoken with Vesta Varro and we’re sorry about the short notice of it all but have agreed between the bands that rescheduling is the best move.
We’ve got three more acts on offer this coming week in the forms of Ro Tierney, West Of Eden and Jimi Cullen so we’ll see you on Thursday night instead for the One Take Sessions.

Yes, I’m on the homepage again. This time it’s with news of the latest recording by Kilkenny grunge 3-piece Chemical Addiction. The lads were in the studio this week working with Daw for their upcoming E.P; ‘The Brian Jones E.P’. You can find out more on my staff blog.
“It was a cold, dark night outside, but inside the studio was warm, friendly and I could feel pure energy coming off the lads.They’ve been flat out for the last two weeks, they’ve had eight practices in the ten days leading up to recording, the result is impressive and clearly shows the benefit of being prepared. They’ve been in the studio with Daw for only two days. Yesterday, they laid down the drum and bass tracks, this morning they recorded the guitar tracks and tonight they plan to record the vocals and harmonies.”
Frantic State Out Of Saturday Night
Frantic State have called in to say that they WON’T be appearing this Saturday night. Having been scheduled to appear on the double-header alongside Limerick rockers Vesta Varro, we’re down a band.

Friday is supposed to be cheesy and the video might be so, but the song is an absolute classic - no denying that. Here’s Phil Collins… now where’s my gorilla suit?
Postcards From The Edge 2
The Arts Office here in Kilkenny are looking for a few spare hands or anyone with a few minutes to spare to drop into 72 John Street and help put up a few postcards.
The ‘Postcards From The Edge 2′ callout received something like 8,000 entries - all on A5 postcards - and they’re trying to get them all on display in the gallery. If you can lend a hand in helping to put them up (maybe bag yourself a free cup of coffee at the same time, who knows), then drop into the Arts Office on John Street.
When they’re all done and done, they’ll be available to buy at 3 euro a piece and a select number of the works, many of which have been gathered from all over the world, will be put on auction. The pieces will be signed by the respective authors though the identities will remain hidden until after the auction. You could find yourself with a postcard piece of artwork worth a nice few euro!

Podcast 31 Recording Thursday - Questions?
Questions and comments are still being taken for Sound System Podcast show 31 which records Thursday. You’ve got until 7pm or so to get any questions, comments, gig dates etc. in for the coming week. There has been discussion on the forums about favourite video games for the podcast so we’ll see where that goes.
