The comedy festival is winding down tonight after a great weekend in town packed with crazy comedians, football, reggae, free gigs and what not so in something completely unrelated to that last statement, the chat rooms are live!

Reincarnated after a few months away, they’re now up and rocking with a few rooms to start. You can create your own rooms if you want, maybe schedule a chat with your band, go all private, or public or whatever - go knock yourself out!

Ilya K On The Way Back

Ilya K make a welcome return to Kilkenny with a gig in The Pumphouse on Saturday June 10th. This is the third gig the band have played in Kilkenny city so far this year and is a testament to the warm response and support received from the Kilkenny audience.

In a recent interview, singer Mick O’Reilly stated that from Ilya K’s point of view, along with Cork, the Kilkenny gigs have proven to be the most dynamic for the band, which is a reflection on the attitude of the young Kilkenny audience when it comes to good original music.

The band will be playing songs from their forthcoming debut album, Dark Matters, which is due for release in the autumn. There is also a spliy 7″ single on the way with another fine Waterford band, Gorbachov. This will be released in the coming weeks so stay tuned to your local press for details.

Special Guest on Saturday night is local act Jilted, another high quality and truely original outfit emergin from the thriving Kilkenny music scene. Admission is 5 bucks and doors open 9:30pm.
