Kilkenny and the rest of Ireland have to watch out for newcomers ‘Saving Judas’ fronted by Sean Paul Redmond as they play alongside The Company in the Pumphouse this weekend. They’ve just gone live in the artists area and you can catch all their details on KilkennyMusic.com while they prepare to launch their own web effort, SavingJudas.com, at the end of the month
Read on for more, with the exlusive - first on KilkennyMusic.com!
A four piece original guitar based band which formed in late 2005. The band collided following an uncanny series of coincidences!!!!!!!!!!
Two members in the band Liam and Paul had recently formed a new band but decided to merge their efforts instead with that of Sean Paul who was eager to join forces with a bunch of dedicated fellow songwriters and musicians.
Saving Judas feel that they have carved out their own unique style of music which can be best described in a way as melodic indie rock, with dialectic entirely of their own.
The band’s song lyrics reflect a catacomb of thoughts, feelings and emotions. With an abundance of original music in the can, Saving Judas have merged their own unique sound, at one minute beautifully melodic then next hard hitting rock.
The band looks a little like this!
Sean Paul Redmond , Lead vocals – guitar
Paul Hindle, Drums - vocals
Liam Redmond, Lead guitar - vocals
Eamon “Fonzy” McEvoy, Bass guitar
Sean Paul has fronted two bands to date (Candy Storm and Joyce’s Twin Brother) and has played support to the likes of Snow Patrol in 2005 and bands such as The 4 of us, Kerbdog and Engine Alley to name but a few. An avid songwriter and performer, Sean Paul parked his ambitions for many years but has emerged with a new found energy and focus.
Paul Hindle an elated drummer has played with Silvertape for the past few years and had recently joined forces with Liam Redmond in 2005 to kick start a new group called Garden of Eden in which they began to right and compose original material.
Liam Redmond a passionate songwriter and guitarist co founded the group Garden of Eden with Paul Hindle in early 2005. Inspired by all things weird and wonderful, Liam a.k.a Billy represents the darker side of Saving Judas. An energetic performer, part time candlelight session player and former member of Silvertape.
Fonzy has played bass with bands like Brainsmile and The Brakes before playing sessions with Silvertape. He was as a result first port of call for the position as bass player. His ability to experiment with new ideas being his best attribute!
Mission!
The band hope to attract interest from the record Industry as they feel that there is a definite opening in the market for the type of music that the band are creating.
The key objective is to record an Industry backed debut album, coupled with the opportunity to support some more major acts throughout Ireland and Europe in order to gain recognition and build on their fan base.
This band has found their feet at an early stage and has focused on their new creative musical inventions whilst not loosing sight of the intricate process, the music industry.
Where are we now !
Currently in rehearsals and writing new material. Band have established a rehearsal base in Co. Kilkenny and are gradually bringing local residents up to speed with the bands musical inventions, via late night guitar wrenching transmissions. The band has registered their band name with the worldwide band registry and is liaising with IMRO and the Federation of Music Collectives at the moment.
Media and Press!
The band is working on establishing their own website Saving Judas.com at present. This will incorporate photos, biography, news/press releases, and up and coming performances (Due to go live on 31st March 2006) They will be featured on Kilkenny Music.com in order to raise the profile of the band locally and at a National level. The Kilkenny People and Kilkenny Voice Newspapers will be releasing press releases on the band in Feb 2006.
A live radio performance will be arranged for April 2006 to coincide with the launch of the SavingJudas.com website.
Discography
The band are not planning on releasing any Ep’s at this stage as they feel that it is important to establish themselves as a live group in the first instance and to direct their recording efforts towards specific Industry backed requests and projects. Performing live is the atmosphere in which they thrive. Welcome to their world!!
